What kind of research informs the creation of content for children?
What secrets lie behind works that captivate children’s imaginations?
We’ve invited guests who have long captivated children—including those involved in television production, picture book creation, animation, the arts, workshops, and the planning and management of exhibitions—all of whom are active at the forefront of their respective fields. Together, we’ll take a comprehensive look at the relationship between media and children.

The guest for the fourth session of the Children’s Media Lab is picture book author Koji Ishikawa.
Mr. Ishikawa has created numerous picture books, including
*All Kinds of Animals Play Hide-and-Seek*, *Tsumiki-kun*, and *Here I Am*.
To date, countless children and adults—
as well as people from all over the world—have been captivated by his picture books.
We’ll discuss what inspired him to create picture books,
what he keeps in mind when creating them,
the relationship between picture books and children,
and the power of picture books……
Drawing on his extensive experience as a multiple award-winning author,
we’ll hear him speak about his own work, what’s necessary for aspiring picture book authors,
and the future of picture books.
