Creative City Summit 2014

I served as a panel moderator at the Creative City Summit 2014.

I also participated in a panel at the Creative City Consortium’s founding event in 2010, so it’s been four years
since then—and I’m truly moved to see just how much activity has sprung up in this city since then.

Today’s symposium focused
on “Opportunity,” one of the three major themes of the Creative
City Consortium—along with “Good Life” and “Diversity.” The Shibuya Hikarie Hall, which seats 800 people,
was packed, and it was a truly inspiring event. Not only was Mr. Nire, who took the stage right after his
midterm exams, an exceptional high school student, but President
Masuda of the CCC also delivered a really impressive presentation titled “Tokyo Will Become a Creative City.”
