Declaration on Digital Education: The Future of Children Who Play and Learn on Smartphones

A book I wrote for the “Minutes Book” e-book series has been published in print.
From digital to print.

The first person to receive this book was Professor Hiroshi Komiyama, the former president of the University of Tokyo, whom I deeply respect.
At today’s board meeting of the Digital Textbook and Educational Materials Council, we got really into a discussion about programming education, and he said, “Send me a copy of whatever
this is about!”
I handed him this book—which I’d just gotten my hands on myself—and he simply said, “I’ll buy it.” Of course, I told him I didn’t need any
money, but he replied, “I can’t read it properly unless I pay for it.” It really
moved me.

Although the book hasn’t been released yet, Mr. Endo from ASCII Research Institute also introduced it as part of the promotion for this weekend’s event.
This weekend, I’ll be having a discussion with Mr. Norio Murakami, former CEO of Google Japan, on the topic of programming education.
