[Kids Creative Lab at the University of Tokyo, Hongo Campus]
Here’s a report on what happened at the University of Tokyo Research Institute on Sunday, September 21!
Just like at Meiji,
we used bingo for the program. When
I announced, “We’re going to play bingo today!” there were shouts of “Yay!” as well as some disappointed “Ehh…”s. Once the
game started, though, even the kids who’d looked disappointed at first started having fun—after all, everyone wants to win.
At the end, when we turned the four cards into 3D structures to play Bingo, some pretty interesting shapes emerged.
The kids peered through the holes, put them on their heads like hats… and suddenly,
Bingo wasn’t really Bingo anymore. They
even used the cards to create their very own Bingo worlds.
Some elementary school students said, “There’s not enough time to make
what I want to make—the finished product I’m imagining in my head is so grand!”
Everyone’s creations spread out across the venue, creating a truly mysterious world.
