- [April 20 Event] “Could This Be the Solution for Corporate Digital Transformation? — ‘Information’ Becomes a College Entrance Exam Subject”

This week’s Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium will feature Mr. Yoshihiko Kakei, Professor Emeritus at Waseda University and Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of Communications.
Starting with high school students entering this spring, a new course titled “Information I” will be introduced, and “Information” will be added as an exam subject for the Common Test for University Admissions scheduled for January 25. How will the addition of “Information”—a course designed to foster the ability to appropriately and effectively utilize information technology to identify and solve problems—change education in Japan?
“Knowledge of the basic mechanisms of computers and networks, as well as the experience of actually making things work through simple programming, are essential foundational skills for becoming adults who will thrive in the society of the future. I expect that the inclusion of ‘Information’ as an entrance exam subject will lead to even greater emphasis on this area in high school education,” says Professor Kakei.Professor Kakei, a leading expert in the field of information science and Chair of the Information Entrance Examination Committee at the Information Processing Society of Japan, will deliver a talk titled “Will This Be the Solution to Advancing Corporate DX? — ‘Information’ as a University Entrance Examination Subject.” We look forward to your participation.
