[After-School Creative Project]

To enrich the after-school experiences of many children, we conduct workshops at after-school facilities designed to nurture their creativity and imagination.

This time, we visited Wakuwaku Yoiwa Hiroba.
We built a car that runs on air!

To start, we all conducted an experiment using an air cannon to learn about the power of air. We had a blast sending plates flying all the way up near the ceiling.
Someone even pointed out, “The power changes depending on how hard you blow!”

Once we felt the power of the air, we set out to build a car that runs on air.
We thought about how to use various materials to create a car that catches plenty of air and runs well.Even those who struggled
at first kept asking themselves, “Is it a
balance issue?
Maybe it’s too heavy!
What if I add a shape like this here?” By repeatedly
building and testing their cars, they
gradually created vehicles that ran smoothly, harnessing the power of the air. It was also a joy to see them take their cars outside to play and race them
after the workshop—a truly heartwarming moment for us as well.

The photos show some of the children’s creative ideas.
